Hello
Carnation Golfers,My name is Chris Heine and I am the new Greens Superintendent here at “The Nation”. I started my career working summers at a municipal golf course in Great Falls, Montana, while I was a student at Portland State. I also played on the PSU men’s golf team during that time. In 1981, I moved to Seattle and began working at Sahalee Country Club. I worked my way up the ranks and was named Assistant Superintendent in 1999. I worked at Sahalee during the 1986 GTE Senior Classic, the 1998 PGA Championship and the 2002 NEC Classic so I have a pretty good idea of what it takes to get a course in decent shape. The reason I left Sahalee to join Chad at Carnation was because I wanted to be a part of a family-run golf course. While my years at Sahalee were very rewarding, there was something missing. What was missing was the camaraderie and interaction among employees and members. I know I will find that here at Carnation. I am happily married to my wife Kay and the father of two great kids – Paige, my 13 year old daughter and Jack, my 9 year old son. We hope to see all of you out on the golf course this year. Let’s hope for some great weather as summer approaches and feel free to stop me and ask any questions you may have. Have a great year of golf! Sincerely, Chris Heine |
