Szekely
LPGA Class A Professional
Visit: http://www.golfingwitherin.com
Erin has been a Class A member of the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional
Division since 1996. She has been teaching at Carnation since 1999, and has
given thousands of lessons over the past eight years. She has coached a high
school girls golf team, and is currently a member of a professional mini
tour and a member of the LPGA Women's Senior Golf Tour. She is the founder
and director of the Washington State Women's Open and through the tournament
has raised over $150,000 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Erin's philosophy about the golf swing and the game is to keep it simple:
that the swing is like any other physical move. Moves that we make every
day....We make it hard by breaking it down into small parts instead of
staying with the whole and making the swing be a response to what we do with
the club. Her students find her philosophy easy to understand and put into
practice. She is featured in Manuel de la Torre's new dvd "Understanding the
Golf Swing" which illustrates Manuel's lessons of the golf swing and game.
He is recognized as one of the top 100 teachers in America. The book and dvd
are available through Erin. She gives private and semi-private lessons as
well as group and short game clinics.
Hello Carnation members,
I just returned from 10 days of teaching in Yuma Arizona at the Cocopah
Golf Resort. I had a great time and was very busy everyday. I had clinics,
private lessons, course management classes and pro-ams to play. They were
all booked solid, and It was a pleasure to be able to teach the way I want
to and have such great response. I met people from all over this country and
Canada. The Washingtonians and Oregonians all want to come to Carnation to
continue their lessons and play the course. So if you run in to one of the
'snowbirds' say hi and welcome. I'm headed back down for another 10 days in
March and am booked for next year down there.
Mark Croft is the Director of golf at Cocopah and is planning to build a
Manuel de la Torre learning center there and the members are very excited
about spreading Manuel's easy to learn, teach and understand principles.
Check out the
article that appeared in the Yuma Sun newspaper while I was there.
I'm looking forward to seeing you this next season...Let's pray for great
weather.

Rusty
Fancher
PGA Class A Professional
Rusty has been a Class A member of the PGA of America since August 1994.
His previous experience includes being a golf course general manager, head
professional, assistant professional and has taught over 4,000 private and
group lessons.
Learning Styles: For an individual I first try to find out
how best the student learns. Be it verbal, visual or physical and highlight
that way of learning throughout the lesson(s). For group lessons it's more
abbreviated and structured, but different styles are brought up.
Lesson Expectations: With one lesson I'll focus on one
(maybe two) pre-shot thoughts and one swing thought. Also you will be given
a drill(s) to do to reinforce the change. For a series of 5 lessons I give
out a typed outline that recaps for you the upcoming 5-week period.
Lesson Series:
 | Level I - the 1st 4 lessons cover the full swing and hitting
drills; the 5th short game. |
 | Level II - 1st lesson is putting, 2nd chipping & pitching, 3rd
half swing, 4th full swing, 5th uneven lies. |
 | Level III - 1st lesson is sand play, 2nd full swing; 3rd-5th is
on course management, which needs to be scheduled for a slow day and time
plus an additional amount for green fees. |
